Lita Rossana Ford, also called Lita Ford, is an American guitar player and singer who was born in Britain. She was the lead guitarist in The Runaways, a hard-rock group comprised of girls in late 1970s. The band's punk-rock style and rebellious lyrics got them noticed by the rock community. While the group did not make much progress in America however they became extremely popular overseas. This was especially true in Japan. Ford launched a solo heavy-metal career following the split from her band in 1979. After taking voice lessons, Ford released her debut solo album "Out for Blood" followed by "Dancin in the Edge". Ford vanished for some time from the scene following the albums' failure to draw the attention they deserved. The hit album "Lita" was launched by Ford in the year 1988. The track "Kiss Me Deadly" and ballad "Close My Eyes forever" were huge hits. However, the success of her career was not lasting and over the course of several years, she was absent. In 1995, she dropped "Black" and fifteen years later , she released 'Wicked. 2016 saw the release of her latest studio album "Time Capsule". Guitar Player Magazine presented her with the Certified Guitar Legend Award.
